The McLeod Prayer Shawl handcraft emphasis for May will be baby items. Knit, crochet, quilt or sew anything you wish. Here are some suggestions: caps, booties, sweaters, blankets, toys, etc.
If you are not able to make anything, you are welcomed to donate items such as baby wipes, layettes, and bibs which we can give along with the handcrafted items.

Flower Pins
April's handcraft emphasis for McLeod Prayer Shawl Ministry will be flower pins.
We hope to make enough pins to give out to our shut-ins and at our Mother-Daughter Tea in May. There will be patterns and yarn for both crochet and knitting available at our next meeting.

Caps
March's handcraft emphasis for McLeod Prayer Shawl Ministry will be caps. You may make baby, children, or adult sized caps. The children and infant caps will be donated along with our children's things. The adult-sized caps will need to be kept at your own home until we pack them up for our boys at the Avon Park Youth Academy on Dec. 3, 2013. Remember, we'll need at least 120 again this year.

Shawls for February
This past summer, we sent all the shawls we had to Friends of the Fallen in Dover as part of the Prayer Shawls for Fallen Soldiers organization.
During February, I would ask that you spend your handcrafting time replenishing our supply of shawls.
Keep them at your own homes until we collect and mail them off on March 12.
If you need yarn, please don't hesitate to get some from the Prayer Shawl room at our next meeting.

Gift Bag Items
The McLeod Prayer Shawl Ladies will be crocheting, knitting, sewing or quilting small items to add to our Welcome Gift Bags which we hope to hand out to our church's visitors in the months ahead. Items will hopefully include hand-made bookmarks, coffee mug warmers, flower or seasonal pins, etc.
We plan to make 12 bags each six months (I KNOW!!! We haven't had that many visitors in 5 years!!! However, I have hope and faith and a really cute pattern for a floral pin that I'm just dying to try!)
The project should cost about $55 every six months. If you are not able to make something to add to the gift bags, perhaps you might consider donating toward them.
